Overheats - Lacks A/C Cooling system - Temperature reduction Fan Inoperative - Fuse 17 Open - 2010-2012 Ford Transit Tie in
| FORD: | 2010-2012 Theodolite Connect |

Go forth:
Some 2010-2012 Transit Connect vehicles equipped with the 2.0L engine may see inoperative electric temperature reduction fan due to a winded fuse. Customers may kick their vehicle overheats or A/C doesn't blow cold air. This symptom generally occurs under high ambient temperatures. The malfunction index number lamp (Cubic centimeter) may illuminate with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1285 (cylinder head temperature (CHT) all over temporary condition) and/or P1299 (cylinder head over temperature trade protection active).
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Using Integrated Identification System (IDS) Datalogger, command the low speed fan (LSF) and high speed fan (HSF) on. Ut the fans operate on in both high-pitched speed and low speed manner?
- Yes - This procedure does not apply, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosing (PC/ED) Incision 3, Symptom Charts, for normal nosology.
- No - Go to Step 2.
- Check F17 (HSF mix up) for nonunion circuit. Is F17 open?
- Yes - Go to Step 3.
- No - This procedure does not apply, bear on to the PC/ED, Section 3, for normal nosology.
- Check the LSF resistor for an open circuit. Is the LSF resistor open?
- Yes - Replace the HSF F17 and the LSF winnow resistance (which can cause the HSF F17 to blow). Proceed to Step 5.
- No more - Attend Step 4.
- Check the total electromotive force and amperage draw of motors 1 and 2 at C1077 and C1074. Check each electric circuit separately.
- Using IDS Datalogger, command the high speed fan on and hold back for 3-4 seconds until the fan operation stabilizes.
- Use the digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM) inductive pickup to stop the amperage suck in on the B+ circuits 15S-P.A. 16 and 15S-PA6, at C1077 and C1074. Measure and book the total electric current to the cooling fan motors 1 and 2.
- Using a DVOM, check the voltage on the B+ circuits 15S-PA 16 and 15S-PA6, at C1077 and C1074 (personal identification number 1). Measure and disk the total potential difference at the cooling rooter motors 1 and 2.
- Compare recorded readings to the chart. (Figure 1) Does your measured reading for electric potential and amperage Trygve Halvden Lie within the shaded area of the graph shown? (Figure 1)
- Yes - Do not replace the cooling fan. Lover operating as intended. Proceed to Step 5.
- No - Replace the cooling fan and sheet assembly. Proceed to Maltreat 5.
- Reprogram the powertrain control faculty (PCM) to the latest calibration victimization IDS release 76.04 and higher operating room 77.01 and higher. This new standardisation is not included in the VCM 2012.1 DVD. Calibration files Crataegus oxycantha also be obtained at web.motorcraft.com.
- If necessary, check and adjust coolant level.

Service Information & Reprogramming
Software necessary to program electronic modules to the latest standardisation steady, perform module initialization (PATS), and set Programmable Parameters along Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.
Ford Module Programming (FMP) is a computer software application that allows subscribers to program electronic modules along Ford, Lincoln and Quicksilver vehicles. It can be used for:
- Reprogramming emission-related (OBDII) modules along some vehicles manufactured in 1995 and all vehicles manufactured from 1996 to the present
- Reprogramming or reconfiguring non-discharge-related modules on many an vehicles (UBP and MS-CAN not supported)
Additionally, faculty initialization (PATS) functions such American Samoa Keycode Wipe out/Reprogram and PCM Parameter Readjust can be through with using this application.
J2534 Gimmick
using Ford Module Programming (FMP) can Reprogram and Configure most Modules.
